Next time Herrera Estelí Norteño enthusiasts go to the stores they will see a big change in the packaging of the cigar line. Drew Estate announced earlier this week in a press release the addition of new packaging configuration available only to Drew Diplomat Retailer Program stores, the “new look” of the display boxes will give the line a bigger presence in the humidor.
Herrera Estelí Norteño boxes were previously available to retailers in 10-count boxes, now retailers will have access to a 25-count box. In addition, Drew Estate will also add 28-count refillable display trays for all existing vitolas and 75-count trays for the Toro Especial, Robusto Grande and Lonsdale Deluxe sizes.
Drew Estate also created a 50-count Humidor Cabinet for the customers to take home. This cabinet will include a built-in Boveda pack storage in the lid and will come with three sizes of the Norteño line for the customer to choose from; Toro Especial, Robusto Grande and Lonsdale Deluxe.
Jonathan Drew recently posted a teaser of what’s to come for the Herrera Estelí Norteño line on his Facebook page. He looked pretty proud of the “new baby”. Good moves JD!
The press release didn’t announce the release date of the Humidor Cabinets but they say only a limited number will be available. Both Display Boxes and Humidors will be featured in Drew Estate’s Booth at the 2015 IPCPR Tradeshow along with the release of the Herrera Estelí Norteño Edicion Limitada.
The new addition to the Herrera Estelí Norteño line will be presented in a 7×48 Parejo Prensado and it will be sold in 15-count boxes. Each cigar will have a price point of $15 and it will be available only to Drew Diplomat Retailer Program stores in early September.
The Norteño Edición Limitada will maintain some of the blend characteristics of the original version with the Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over Honduran binder and Nicaragua filler, they will have just a slight twist on the blend in order to fit the new Churchill design.
In a Drew Estate press release earlier this week, they ask Master Blender Willy Herrera about the new cigar and he stated “The Norteño has been one of my favorite blends for many months now, with its meaty, spicy flavor; it just fits my palate perfectly. This new Edición Limitada is based on the same Herrera Estelí Norteño blend profile with a few changes here and there. Any fan of our Herrera Estelí lines will definitely enjoy these sticks. Pick them up soon as they’re sure to sell out quickly!”
The new Herrera Estelí Norteño Edición Limitada Churchill will be displayed in Drew Estate’s Booth at the 2015 IPCPR Tradeshow which starts on July 17th.
